Hayden was born on Tuesday April 15, 2008. The doctor wanted to induce because my blood pressure was running high and they didn't want to take any chances, so we went to the hospital on Monday afternoon around 2. The started me on a drug that I now can't remember that was supposed to help me dilate and said it would take 12 to 24 hours to work, by 8 the next morning it had done it's job and they started the petocine which was supposed to bring on contractions. Needless to say, nothing happened. At 2 on Tuesday afternoon (24 hours in) they decided to break my water and up the petocine, and sure enough I started to have contractions right away. By the time I could ask for an epidural, I was fully dilated and ready to push. About an hour and a half later at 6:46 pm Hayden was born. She was 6 lbs 1 oz and 19.5 in long.
These are our favorite pictures from the hospital. She was so tiny. Great Grandma Yoder gave us the pink ruffled hat. We couldn't resist and took a million pictures of her with that hat.
Here is a video Daddy made from our time in the hospital. Don't worry, I wouldn't let him record any of the gross stuff!
