The very first trip that Scott and I ever took together was to Monterey to go to the aquarium, we haven't been back since. So when we were making our vacation plans for this year and Hayden said she wanted to go to the aquarium we thought Monterey would be fun and a great place to reminisce about our first trip together. Even better we could take the motor home and camp, wahoo! Well the girls and Scott really like that part!

On our way, the girls were listening for the ocean on their feet!

Okay, so the drive was crazy. We got lost 3 times and had to make 2 U-turns which is pretty hard in the motor home itself but we were also pulling the car. I did really good and didn't panic or let my anxiety show anyway until we came to this bridge... I about lost it.

Then we saw this sign... see the road. We are never going to fit!

The park we stayed at was really cute. It was really small...seriously this was it and it was right next to a river.

We finally got all settled in and got dinner made but it was already dark out so we had to stay inside and eat.

The day we went to the aquarium they were having a food network event and we had no idea. So there were all these celebrity chefs cooking and handing out samples and everyone was super dressed up and here we are with 2 little ones and a double stroller. It was hilarious but made it even more fun.

My favorite room in the aquarium. Its a circular fish tank in the ceiling. You lay on the floor and look up and the fish just swim and swim in circles. It is really cool.

Not only did they have lots of cool fish, they had a kids area where you could dress up and play on the playground. Hayden wanted to be a snail!

Olivia had fun on the water trampoline!

I never thought our kids would ever get my eyes. I guess I had just thought Scott's eyes would always be dominate and never gave it a second thought. I am glad I finally won at something!!

The girls loved looking at the fish, they would stand a look in awe forever if we would let them!

I love this picture...that is all!

Scott's favorite...the Jelly Fish.

Hayden is hilarious, I swear she amazes me more everyday.

Olivia surprises me too! Cute little thing!

Hayden's favorite was the turtles and the sea otters.

The girls got to have their first experience with seafood, well besides fish sticks. Hayden loved the shrimp but kept calling them sea otter and I thought the people around us were going to die every time she said it. Apparently sea otters are protected and people in Monterey take it very seriously.

Olivia stuck to french fries and tartar sauce. Well more tartar sauce then french fries...reminds me of someone I used to know who used french fries as a utensil to each ketchup (me)!

Back at the park, we had fun in the relaxation area swinging. It was a great trip, we will have to add this one to the list of places to go back!
