In Other News...March
Can you believe that March is half way over already? Geez how time flies when you are having fun! That's what we do around these parts have fun and work when we have too! Spring is officially on us and I am excited for our first camping trip later this month and ready to put all the coats and sweaters away (so they are not in a pile in my entry way) and start playing outside. But first here is what we have been up to this month!
Uncle Freddy took a trip to Canada and got the girls these awesome hockey dolls that are actual twins that play in the NHL. Have I mentioned that the girls favorite Condor's players this year are twins? Tyson and Jesse Gimblett so of course our Canadian hockey dolls have been renamed Tyson and Jesse and follow us everywhere! Thank you Uncle Freddy for feeding our addiction...and giving us a little bit of Hockey all year round.
We started with a reward system this month to help encourage the girls to get things done without being asked a thousand times so they can earn stars and earn rewards like Disneyland! I found these awesome charts on amazon with pictures of the tasks so the girls can easily see what they need to do. There are 25 different tasks so we can switch them out when they master one...hoping it works!
They got the hang of it pretty quick, just missing a few stars here and there and they earned themselves a trip to Disneyland! Let's hope they can keep it up!
Speaking of Disneyland, one of our favorite rides is the Tea Cups. The girls laugh and giggle the whole time we are spinning and spinning. It is a sound that warms my heart and I hope to never forget!
Hayden was so so excited to see Jake from Jake and the Neverland Pirates! It was the first time we had seen him and she was in awe of him...Olivia didn't want to go near him...she still has her moments when she thinks the characters are scary!
Since Hayden is tall enough now for the "big kid" rides we are testing them out one at a time to see if she likes them before moving on to bigger and scarier ones. So this trip we went on Gadget's go Coaster in Toon Town. It is just a little roller coaster that goes up and around and back with one little drop. Here is as they were headed up....
Scott videoed the whole thing and I love to watch it because she is screaming but you can't really tell if it is a good scream or a oh my god get me out of here scream. This is a still shot from during the screaming....cracks me up every time...
