Pismo 2012
We took our first mini vacation of the summer in our motor home and went to Pismo for a 4 day weekend, little did we know that summer decided to go on vacation too so it was unseasonably cold while we were there but that didn't stop us from having fun. We went with the Holton family and spent our days flying kites, playing on the beach, went to the San Luis Obispo Children's Museum, and went for lots of walks. I didn't take the camera (camera's and sand don't mix well), so iPhone pictures are going to have to do!
On the road...have to reach for the sky when you go over railroad tracks...it brings good luck!
Ahhhh, the beach!! Isn't it beautiful?? Hayden was so excited to go put her feet in the freezing cold water and didn't even care that the waves were crashing in on her!
Olivia on the other hand preferred to stay as far away from the water as possible, this is the closest I could get her to go without her screaming and trying to crawl up on the top of my head. It was loud and windy and scary, and I was completely fine with staying as far away as possible with her!
Scott brought kites for us to fly and the girls were very excited to try it out. It wasn't hard considering it was crazy windy....
...it was up in the air as far as it would go in about 10 seconds!
These are the best swings in the universe! Right on the beach, perfect for pictures!
On day 2 Olivia still wasn't up for going near the water, so we just hung out by the wagon (far from the water) and played in the sand.
Hayden on the other hand wanted to be right next to the water building sand castles!
Yes it was freezing but the park we stayed at had a heated pool that was pretty much as warm as a jacuzzi so we let the kids go swimming for as long as they could stand it. Of course Hayden stayed in until we dragged her out...
...Olivia lasted less than a minute and spent the rest of the time wrapped up tight on daddy's lap! Can you tell how different these two children are?? Like night and day.
It was supposed to rain while we were there (plus be freezing cold) so we decided to take the kids to the San Luis Obispo Children's Museum to let the kids play. They had lots of fun things to play with, Hayden's favorite area was the play kitchen (no surprised there) and she made us all lunches!
They also had a climbing tower that you could go up in and they had an "I spy" list with binoculars. Hayden liked this as well!
Awe, I loved this one of me and my girls!!
They had a big clock and the pendulum was a swing that you could sit in....Olivia loved this...I forced Hayden to be in the picture and she was not happy about it....can you tell?
They also liked the train table, which was something they had never seen before...Luke liked it too...see him in the background playing with the trains!
Going for walks in the wagon was one of my favorite parts...did I mention it was cold? Yeah so we had to get all bundled up and be prepared for rain just in case but it was still fun.
Olivia always wears her sunglasses upside down...I really hope she never grows out of that!
The three amigo's...the girls love Dylan and I think he likes hanging with the girls too!
This is my favorite part, me and the girls all snuggle up and sleep together in the back bed. It is the only time I let them sleep with me (Scott can't handle it so he sleeps on the couch), but they always ask when we are going to take a trip again so that they can snuggle and sleep with me little love bugs.
