You know your short when...
I have been short my whole life! Everyone has always been taller than me, my parents, my siblings, my friends, pretty much everyone (except my friend Amanda who is almost the same height as me which is why I always wanted to be her friend since the 2nd grade). Well it never bothered me much even though people teased me when I was young, called me shorty and bad words I won't even repeat. Now that I am old the same people try to convince me I should wear heels so I don't look like a "little person" still never bothered me until the day I realized that my children were going to be taller than me. Yep that was a sad day for me! Inevitably, definitely Hayden and maybe Olivia will both be taller than me and at this rate it is not that far off and it completely bums me out. I guess the thought of them not being able to curl up in my lap and cuddle and pick them up to hold them when they get a owie is too much for me to handle (among other things). So I am going to get every cuddle and carry them to bed every chance I get until the day comes when they can cuddle and carry me!
Proof #1: Andrew is 10 and in the 5th grade...if I use Andrew as a guide Hayden and I will be able to share clothes while she is still in grade school! How sad is that?
Proof #2: At Hayden's last doctor's visit in August at 3.5 years old she was 3'3" and 38 lbs with an expected height of 5'6"-5'8". For the record I am only 4'11" maybe 5' on a good day. She doesn't have very far to go before she catches me.
For goodness sakes Andrew only has 5 more inches to catch up to me! I am holding out hope that Olivia is going to take after me so at least someone will be close to my size!

I help with Young Women at church now, and people keep commenting on how they think I am one of the kids. until they see my wrinkles that is.
